INDIA MOVING TO E30 PETROL (30% BLENDING OF PETROL BY ETHANOL) IS A GOOD STEP IN NATIONAL INTEREST AND ALSO FOR ATMOSHPHERE
Dear Readers,
The Central Government of India has notified the Standard for adopting E30 Petrol, that allows 30% Blending of Ethanol (Ethyl Alcohol) in Petrol that can be sold in the Indian market.
Giving below a Public Domain News Report link on it, however there are many publications on it in the public domain one can read by choice.
India notifies standards for petrol blends with up to 30% ethanol
This move will help in reducing the National Import Bill of India's Import of Crude Oil, it will reduce the dependence of India on Crude Oil Imports while presently more than 80% of India's Crude Oil need is imported and it will also help the Farmers of India who produce Sugarcane and the Domestic Ethanol Manufacturing Industry who manufacture Ethanol in India, as in India, Ethanol is produced mostly from Sugarcane.
Ethanol (C2H5OH) is a 2-Carbon (C2) compound by Chemical Structure, where as Petrol is normally a C5 to C12 Compound depending on the manufacturer and seller of Petrol. Thus, there will be less Pollution load on Atmosphere by Petrol Vehicles emission due to 30% of Higher Carbon Number Petrol will get replaced by the lower C2 Number Ethanol to be used as fuel for Petrol Vehicles.
The Quantum of Disruption of Fuel Supplies in India due to Geo-Political issues and affairs taking place and that keeps coming up from time to time in the International Scenario as seen over the years together and due to India's high dependence on import of Crude Oil; will also get reduced and its impact on Indian Economy will get reduced for National Interest of India.
It is understood, there is a concern regarding the Fuel Efficiency of E30 Petrol, that will get mitigated by the Petrol Vehicle Manufacturers who will have to reorient the Engines of the New Vehicles adapted to E30 Petrol, that concern is a smaller issue and can not be a barrier to adoption of E30 Petrol in the Larger Interest of the Nation.
Over all this is a Good Step in the National Interest of India and for the Atmosphere.
