THE MENACE OF BLOCKING AND MUTING 

IN SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS 

The biggest nuisance in Social Medial Platforms today is the Hooliganism of Blocking and Muting by the Administrators. The Democratic Principles and Freedom of Speech of the Members of Social Media Groups are being attacked by vested interests. Some persons having vested interests and nexus acquire Administrator/Moderator rights in the social media groups and use that administrator rights to terrorize the members of blocking and muting. 


The Administrators of Vested Interests create a group of hooligans around them to exploit the situation and realize the best returns for their vested interests. Those Administrators also create a group of their supporters by placating them by lure of various means. Those hooligans thus created by the Administrators of vested interest try to attack and intimidate the Upright and Honest members who genuinely and diligently raise voice against exploitation of the situation by the Administrators of vested interests. Those Supporters of the Vested Interest Administrators though do not come to the surface, but being placated and pleased by various means of their vested interests, they try to create and spread their influence inside the groups to create their supporters who indirectly wield support to such administrators to keep the Vested Interest Administrators' interests protected and  perennially yielding. 


Due to repeated abuses, attack and intimidation on the upright members, the maximum number of members of such social media groups, a very large majority go into silence. Once a very large majority goes into silence, the vested interest administrators, try to silence the upright voices by Blocking and Muting.

However, these are mostly suicidal attempts of those vested interest administrators 


The situation in the Alumni Association which is a Registered Body of a Business School in India has been horrible and disastrous. Even all efforts and silencing efforts are on to stall the election of the said Association which is a registered body. All above observations are clearly applicable there. But the upright voices will not go silent in spite of silencing efforts by the Vested Interests. The way it is moving, the vested interests and all their supporters may get exposed soon. 


About the Author : Dr. Nimain Charan  Biswal is a B.Sc.(Agri. Science and Technology), M.B.A. and Ph.D.(Management Area ) by qualifications and he has 35+ years of work experience in both  industrial and development sectors in diversified fields of social importance. He has worked for reputed National and International Organisations in Senior/Top Management Capacities. He is a management expert covering extensive areas from management in agriculture, industrial management, development management to management of public systems. He is a prominent professional of India and known Internationally as well. He lives at Mumbai in India.
