ALL CORPORATE PUBLIC OR PRIVATE AND COOPERATIVES WILL BE UNDER OBLIGATION TO PASS ON THE GST RATE CUT TO CONSUMERS
Dear Readers,
All Corporate, Public or Private and Cooperatives will be under Obligation to pass on the GST Rate Cut benefits announced by Government of India and GST Council of India effective from 22-September-2025.
While Government of India as announced, will monitor it seriously, the Market Forces will compel the Corporate to pass on the GST Rate Cut Benefits to the Consumers, otherwise those corporate who will try to pocket the GST Rate Cut Benefit as their own windfall gain (profit) will get branded as Unscrupulous and Corporate indulging in Unfair Trade Practices.
The Consumers of the Present Market, are much more clever and intelligent as well as well exposed to trade practices, those corporate who will not pass on the GST Rate Cut benefits will be caught by them easily and they will be outcasted in the market as said "indulging in unfair trade practices".
Even the Popular Cooperatives, with Strong Brands and Strong Brand Loyalty of the consumers, who draw and fetch liberal sympathy from the consumers over the years and decades in India, if do not pass on the Benefits of GST Rate Cut that has been allowed by Government of India and the GST Council of India to the consumers by some plea or other, they will lose substantial Brand Loyalty, Brand Sympathy and Brand Affinity of from the Consumers of India, Passing on the GST Rate Cut Benefit to the consumers is going to be a very big test for them. I have read some news in public domain some time back, that some of them are trying to take a short cut in this matter, that is not encouraged at all at this point of Testing even for the Popular Cooperatives. No Fudging Logic can be applied in not passing on the GST Rate Cut Benefit to the Consumers.
We have some MDs and CEOs of Corporate and Popular Cooperatives who I am sure are going to read this note, as an Independent Expert within my merits and having some exposure to them and well exposure to the market, and the factual basis of the subject matter and understanding well the purpose and objectives of Government of India as well as GST Council of India, a word of serious caution to them, attempts should not be made to retain and hijack the GST Rate Cut Benefits and not passed on to the Consumers in any way. It will be suicidal attempt for their Organiztions, whether Corporate or Popular Cooperatives. They will loose substantial brand credibility, organizational credibility and credibility before the Government of India, State Governments ( all of them are part of GST Council of India ) and they will be totally seen as unfair trade practicers in the consumers and public eyes, that will be irreparable loss of credibility for them ( they will also lose the Government Support they have been enjoying for years and decades together, it is no mean support to be ignored). If they get into fudging logic, logic to retain and hijack the GST Rate Cut Benefits and not pass on to the consumers in transparent manner, I am sure they will realize the consequences I am saying on some day, that will be very detrimental to their Brands and Organizations. Passing on the recent GST Rate Cut Benefits to the consumers is a very serious issue in India, it can not be taken lightly by any Corporate or Cooperatives.
All of you can read the following News Article, I am giving you the link below where in ITC Limited, a Major FMCG Corporate of India, has announced that they will pass on the full GST Rate Cut benefits to the Consumers:
GST rate cuts: FMCG giant ITC to pass on ‘full benefit’ to customers across portfolio — Details here
This news announced by ITC Limited should be Eye Opener and Warning Bell to Other Corporate and Popular Cooperatives. The Adamant Attitude and Ego of anyone or some in any manner due to Large Size of the Corporate or Cooperatives, and the advantage of Long Standing Patronage to the Brand by the Very Consumers who deserve to get the benefits of GST Rate Cut, will not work in this serious case. Two days back, I am sure some of you or all of you have read the Announcement of Public Sector, Government Owned New India Assurance Company Limited ( the insurance company ) having announced to pass on the Full Benefits of GST Rate Cut to the consumers.
