THE NEW PAMBAN BRIDGE AT RAMESHWARAM DEDICATED TO THE NATION TODAY IS PRIDE OF INDIA


Dear Readers,

The New Pamban Bridge ( Vertical Lift Sea Bridge) dedicated to the Nation today at Rameshwaram, Tamilnadu, India by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, is India's Pride, brushing shoulders with USA, UK and Denmark-Sweden who in the World only have this kind of Infrastructure. 

It is now connecting Rameshwaram Island (Pamban Island) on the Sea to the Mainland in Tamilnadu in India.  

The New Pamban Bridge inaugurated at Rameshwaram Tamilnadu today, is comparable only to the rest-3 of of the World available at Golden Gate (USA) at Sanfrancisco Bay, Tower Bridge(London) and Oresund Bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden.

This Massive, State of the Art, Engineering Marvel built by Rail Vikash Nigam Limited (RVNL) of India, replacing the Old Pamban Bridge built by the Britishers at the Location, is definitely India's Pride. 

The Speciality of a Vertical Sea Lift Bridge is; a part of the Bridge on Sea is Lifted to Substantial Height to allow a Marine Vessel pass under the Bridge. When the Vessel passes, of course the traffic on the Sea Bridge is halted for the time taken by the Sea Vessel to pass under the Bridge. The New Pamban Bridge inaugurated today, has 72.5 meters of length part ( called as the Navigational Pane) which can be lifted to 17meters height to allow a Marine Vessel pass under it safely.

I understand fully, a few may not like these kind of feats achieved nationally to be trumpeted, however if we do not trumpet for our National Achievements who will do for us? None will do it for us in the world, if we keep waiting.
