FARMER FOCUSED DECISIONS ON THE NEW YEAR WITH HUGE FUND OUTLAYS : TO PAY UP FOR THE 1.40 BILLION POPULATED INDIA
Dear Readers,
The news in the public domain released today says as a Farmer Focused and Farmer Centric Decision on the New Year, by a Cabinet Decision, the Huge Fund Outlay of Rs. 69, 515 Core (Rs. 695.150 Billion) has been allocated today by the Central Government (Government of India), for extending the Crop Insurance and Farmer Safety/Subsidy measures for FY 2025-26.
Hear is the News Link of the Times of India:
Cabinet approves Rs. 69,515 Crore outlay to extend crop insurance schemes; PM Modi says govt's first decision in new year dedicated to farmers
The Crop Insurance is going to play a measure role for Farmer Safety and Risk Mitigation, as more and more Adverse Weather Events due to Global Climate Change caused by Global Warming, can lead to Crop Damages and Crop Failures increasing the Risk Factor of the Farmers, for which they need to be supported for sustaining the unexpected loss they might have to incur, left to fend themselves under un-aided circumstances and even they may not be able to come back to Agricultural Production system that is essential as we have to also feed 140 Crore Stomachs minimum; with food stuff perennially in India.
Giving Farmers the Agricultural Inputs such as the Important Fertilizer DAP(Diammonium Phosphate) at almost 55% Subsidized Price (@Rs. 1350 per 50kg Bag against market price of about Rs. 3000) will reduce the Cost of production of the Farmers and Boost the Production. Thus the income of the Farmers can be boosted out of Agriculture.
We are a diversified large geography both longitudinally and latitudinally in the Globe, therefore, there would be likelihood at National Level for us in India, to have some vagaries of the climate change led calamities leading to crop failures and crop damages at some locations or others (in some states or others) in our Large National Geography, and in this context better to remain prepared and the above decision will help.
There is a fund outlay of Rs. 800 Crore also for use of Innovation and Technology for the Benefit of Farmers in this direction, that the news said, it is a step to equip the system to take timely action for their risk mitigation and to ensure their safety to remain in mainstream of Agricultural Production.
The Mega Sized farmer centric and farmer focused decisions will work for the National Interest to pay up for the 1.40 Billion Populated India, it is to be noted. On the New Year this Farmer Centric Decision at National Level is to be duly noted and appreciated.
Keeping the Framers Protected by mitigating their Risk Factors and Ensuring their Safety and helping them in boosting production and realizing better income; is in the National Interest.
I think, all those involved in whatever ways with farmers' cause and production systems where ever in India, may motivate the farmers by their little ways, for the farmers to take benefit of the Crop Insurance Scheme and its associated support system of the Government to keep themselves insured and insulated. The Farmers' Cooperatives can be helpful in assisting their farmer members for tapping the Benefit out of it.
