POPULATION DECLINE IN SOME PARTS OF THE WORLD: THE SIGNAL OF LONG TIME NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS POPULATION GROWTH AND HAVING CHILDREN
Dear Readers,
I read the following article giving link below, it says Tokyo, the most important city of Japan is going to have 4-days Work Week for people there from 2025.
The reason for this decision is said to be Population Decline. The Authorities of Tokyo want to give 3-days off to the people per week as incentive to them to take care of their families, children and the couples to spend quality time together, so that they get motivated to have more children, so that the Population Growth Rate gets enhanced.
This is a new Trend in the World where the Nations have now become conscious to have better population growth, as generally there is a decline in birth rate.
Some of the Recent Nations those have come in the News relating to this subject are;
1. Russia who has created a Gender-Ministry to create all kind of facilities and incentives so that people go for more children.
2. Singapore has been constantly in the News in recent times.
3. Now we see it is in Japan by the News Link I gave above.
4. USA also has some concern that came in the News some time back.
5. China has some concern on this in the recent times.
World wide, for a long time, almost in the last Century ( 20th Century, whole of it ), world wide there was terrible pressure on people not to have more children. China was one of the Atrocious Nations putting all kinds of pressures and brakes on its population not to have more children, practiced a Single-Child norm quite strictly and severe disincentives for having more than single child for a very long time. In fact, in the past, I had very close interaction professionally with some Chinese People who used to work in Europe, who had told me that they left China looking for jobs in Europe, particularly to avoid the atrocious policies against having children and they left China for Europe to have children for them while working there without any restriction ( they had in China ) for having children.
In India we had a long time Family Planning Programme which I have seen in my childhood, that advocated very strongly and extensively "Hum Do Humare Do" the most popular slogan in India floated by Governments to insist on people not to have more than 2-Children. In fact this pressure in India has led to an Attitudinal Change among younger Indians to limit themselves for a single child and not more. I have first hand knowledge where Indian Families, primarily Parents and Grand Parents who are older family elders having advised younger couples of the families to have more children and not limit themselves to a single child in their life time. That is definitely a good thing that is happening now in Indian Families to advise youngster couples to have more than one child.
Worldwide there came a trend that both the couple (husband and wife) wanted to have working careers to have better economic earnings to have better family finance, however in the process, they wanted to limit themselves with 1 or 2 children maximum. Also for various reasons, in the world more lives get lost where as the new births are not in the same proportion. Also, in some countries like that in Japan, some couples even decided not have have children during their life time, and they wanted to spend their lives without children. In USA I remember there was a crazy theme there some time back very strongly operating called then as "DINK" ( Double Income and No Kids), I call it a very crazy and very negative family idea that was ruling there for quite some time, now this attitude of younger people have started changing there in USA as I came to know.
India has an Opportunity with a large population, it is not a problem looking at what is the situation in the world with population decline, may be India's large population will get opportunities to migrate and work in those countries where there is population decline to fill up the vacancies.
I think the negative attitude to having children in life time, should not be correct to have for the younger generations who are at their reproductive stages of their lives, that should be the idea to transpire to all who may be reading this note of mine. In India our Culture is a very family oriented culture, the families want children as part of our lives to have happy families, having that inherited culture intact in India is never any bad idea.
