WHETHER IT IS THE SON OR DAUGHTER PERFORMING THE LAST RITES OF A PARENT: IS NO MORE AN ISSUE PRESENTLY IN INDIAN SOCIETY Dear Readers, It is no more an issue in Indian Society in the Contemporary times, whether a Son or Daughter performs the Last Rites by Lighting the Funeral Pyre of a Parent, it is being made acceptable, as is known. N ormally the Eldest Child performs the last rites, in case the eldest child can not do it due to any justified reason, any child lights the Funeral Pyre of the Parent, where the mortal remains are cremated by consigning into flames. In Hindu Society also in the contemporary times, the tradition is getting liberalized and being acceptable, if a Son is available to light the funeral pyre he does it, if not available; a daughter is being allowed to do that in the contemporary times; it is getting widely accepted now a days, without distinction or demarcation among the both and without barriers.
