NIGERIA HONOURING THE HON'BLE INDIAN PRIME MINISTER WITH ITS HIGHEST HONOUR : ONLY SECOND TIME THAT IS BEING CONFERRED ON A FOREIGN DIGNITARY ONLY AFTER QUEEN ELIZABETH IS A MOMENT OF PRIDE FOR INDIA

Dear Readers,

The following news of The Hindustan Times says, Nigeria is Honouring the Hon'ble Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, with its Highest Honour, only being done so, Second Time so far and till date being conferred on a Foreign Dignitary after Queen Elizabeth of UK, only done once earlier, while the Hon'ble Indian Prime Minister is visiting Nigeria today.

Nigeria to honour PM Modi with rare award which only Queen Elizabeth received

This is definitely a moment of Pride for India, while the Hon'ble Chair of the PM of India is being conferred with such Highest Honour from Nigeria.

Nigeria is one of the important and larger countries of West Africa, with Rich Natural Resources, lot of Oil Resources on its ground and also minerals. Nigeria's business was quite dominated by some of the Indian Origin Business Houses primarily originating from the erstwhile Sindh Province of India before Partition, who migrated to England and tried to run their business empires in Nigeria being UK based.

I remember, in around 1980s, while I became work-enabled in the market, after passing out of IRMA(Institute of Rural Management Anand) in PRM-5 in 1986,  Nigeria was a bit harder location to work, primarily a kind of non-family destination, generally professionals from India were feeling afraid and reluctant to go there ( I repeat I am saying the general feeling at that time, may not be applicable to any specific cases) but it was very lucrative for remunerations, which many Indian Professionals used to explore then also. Some of my friends both IRMANs( who are Alumni of IRMA) and Non-IRMANs(who are Alumni of other such Institutes) tried to use this Opportunity, even some of them migrated while the Confidential References did come to me on them on the basis of trust from some quarters, and they were recruited on my Recommendations, which they may not be knowing till date, but it is true. Some of them have become wealthy with resources as I can see today. Of course they traded off with certain hardship that they accepted in those days, it has to be admitted.

My inclination was to stay inside India, hence I remained where I am today, fair enough, I am very clear about it.

I read through the following News that there have been massive investments made till date by 270 Indian Companies in Nigeria and the bilateral relations of India with Nigeria has quite flourished  over the years to date.

Last year while the G-20 Presidency was with India, it is of course a Gesture Significant that India led by the Incumbent PM of India while leading the G-20 last year, has made a significant effort to give a Permanent Seat in the G-20 Block to the 59-Nation African Union as recognition to Global South Nations in the Path to their Progress for the first time in the Global History, such a Gesture is being rendered to the African Union. This is also an important factor in the Important African Nation such as Nigeria, recognizing and conferring the rare Highest Honour on the Hon'ble Incumbent Indian Prime Minister.

The Roles and Gestures of India as a Nation in the Global Arena are being increasingly recognized; there is no doubt about it and of course it has to be admitted, I am saying without bias and with "Nation First Motto", with absolute happiness and pride that Nigeria has preferred to give this rare honour to the Hon'ble Indian Prime Minister, which in other sense is recognition of the Nation of India.

Best regards,
