THE PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS-PREVENTION OF UNFAIR MEANS LAW MADE EFFECTIVE FROM 21-JUNE-2024: WILL NEED TO BE CAMPAIGNED IN INDIAN SOCIETY TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF ITS EXISTENCE AND DETERRENT EFFECT
Dear Readers,
The Central Government has made The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 effective from 21-JUNE-2024.
This is a very stringent law to act as deterrent against adoption of Unfair Means in the Public Examinations in other words competitive examinations , which has provision of imprisonment upto 10years and monetary fine up to Rs. 1 Crore.
It is a must that everyone in the Indian Society should know about it.
This law will need to be campaigned in Indian Society to make people aware of its existence and deterrent effect, to build an anti-unfair means (in public examinations) character in Indian Society at large.
The Responsibility of Campaigning of this Law will lye with each and everyone of the Society, however an indicative list from where this effort should start and go on is:
1. Central Government
2. State Governments / Govts of Union Territories
3. All Institutions related to Public Examinations.... including the Institutions/Authorities Conducting the Public Examinations and also Educational Institutions.
4. The Moment a Child gets into +2 Level of Education after which he/she has to face the Public Examinations, should be exposed to a Communication to know that such a law exists and the deterrent punishment provisions it has for adopting unfair means.
5. Parents of the Children Appearing in Public Examinations.
6. Practically as I said, each and every one in the Indian Society will need to know about existence of this law and should campaign and let others know about its existence.... whether in Rural Areas or Urban Areas irrespective of locations.
7. Any other can be thought of and added, as I said this list is indicative and not exhaustive.
In fact, this law will deserve to be campaigned like the effective "Family Planning" campaign India undertook for many years, in order for the people to know it for building a character of Anti-Unfair Means in Public Examinations and also none to be liable to be punished by its stringent punishment provisions out of ignorance of it ( the popular proverb : ignorance of law is no excuse ).
There are many news in public domain today, anyone can read by choice, however, I am giving the link of a comprehensive news that also has the Real Law in PDF embedded in it, for anyone would like to have a look at it.
Centre notifies law to tackle unfair practices, punish paper leaks in public exams
If yourself (anyone) would make any other person(s) aware of this law, it will be a great help to the Indian Society.
I am doing my little bit effort in this direction by publishing it here and circulating where ever I have access to people.
