OCTOBER-2-TODAY : REMEMBERING MAHATMA GANDHI AND LAL BAHADUR SHASHTRI JI
Most sincerely and most Respectfully, I believe all of you my readers, are remembering Today, the October 2, the Birthday of both, Mahatma Gandhi - The FAther of Indian Nation
and also,
Lal Bahadur Shastri - The Bahadur Son ( "Lal Bahadur" in Hindi means "Brave Son") of India.
Both of them stand on different footings of their standing by their own merits, however both as able sons of India as well, not to be mixed up or to be confused in any way.
Since morning today, I
have been waiting and watching very patiently, not much remembrance of
them, coming out in public in India, as much I tried to view through the
public media of India.
I
remember, while I was until class-5, I was in class-5 in 1970, from the
School ( I was in my village primary in Odisha, India it was no convent
school) the teachers used to take us in long queues one after another to
cover around 2-3 villages around the School say in 3-4 kms walking
around, all of us in
clean and well dressed as was possible in villages of India (Odisha
then) in half pants and half shirts (School girls of course in forks or dress applicable to girls then ), and chanting in whole group " Mahatma Gandhi ki Jay ". "Bharat Mata ki Jay", this was until around 1970 when I was in Class-5. It
was done as similar celebrations we used to do in schools at that time
around 1970*(*for Independence day Aug-15 or Republic Day Jan-26) with Village Processions around in long queues of kms long
the programmed which was used to be named then as "Prabhat Feri" ( means
morning returns ).
At that time around 1970, Lal Bahadur Shashtri was not so much in Birth Day Celebration of him
as he was just the PM (Prime Minister of India) in very recent times to that time not so much
back in history ( his PM duration being only than from 09-June -1964 to
11-January-1966, about 18 months ), however he was very popular then for
his slogan "Jai Jawan Jai Kishan " that we used to read in the Primary School then, I am saying before my Class-5 in 1970....
Over
time, people fade some memories of great persons and statesmen, people
change remembering parameters, their ideological leanings change,
drowning level in contemporary environment created by others also
changes, it happens and it does happen.
Heart-Felt
Tributes for both of them, for Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri
ji, today, on October,2, their Birth Anniversary.
I could
have written this message first in the morning, but as I said I was
patiently also waiting and watching the developments and publishing at
National Public Media as much I could read and watch before placing my
bit of tribute for the two-great sons of India as I said above.
I think many of us had the opportunity of reading the Mahatma Gandhi's own authored book "
My Experiments with Truth ", I read it at a very early age when I was
able to understand English writings well, and definitely I remembered it
in the morning today.
