NON-RESPONSE COULD BE THE BIGGEST DISEASE OF A SYSTEM: THEY THE SYSTEM LEADERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT
NON-RESPONSE COULD BE THE BIGGEST DISEASE OF A SYSTEM: THEY THE SYSTEM LEADERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT
The Bright Example for demonstrating the Non-Response from the today's world could be a Computer System. If a computer system is not giving response, it would mean something which everyone will understand easily as:
1. It has severe flaw somewhere,
either the hardware, or the software or the both have severe flaw. In
almost all the cases, either the Software has become "Corrupt", or a
hardware part has gone out of order which is called as the "Rogue" part after having gone bad. The terminologies are coined by the computer
professionals, not me.
2. The System has got in to a state of "Hang" by getting into an abnormal path from which it is not able to come out (of it).
The
same is the situation in an Institutional System, largely possible, if
it is not giving response. It requires Intervention, either to replace
the "Rogue" hardware part or to reboot or re-install the "Corrupt" software.
In
almost all the cases, the Leaderships who run the Institutional
Systems, are responsible for it, if the System becomes non-responding
and does not give a Response.
To the best
of my knowledge and belief, experiences as well as assessment, which everyone here
may understand easily for his acknowledged popularity in the yesteryears and that remain the mind of the people by far, Dr. V. Kurien (the father of the white revolution in India) was a good leader, he had ensured
that, even if a post card comes to his offices in Amul, GCMMF, NDDB and
IRMA, it ( the organizations) should give a response. The incoming Post-Card may carry good,
bad, dirty or ugly message, whatever, it should be responded with a response. If it
is a matter to be worked on for a little longer time for some reason, an
interim response should be be given that the subject is being worked on
for right reasons and an interim response is being given in the
meanwhile and a final response will follow in due course. If at all, there is a
reminder that comes from the sender saying he/she did not receive a
response, Dr. Kurien would take the Response Point -who was assigned to
respond to severe task. For this reason, there was a sense of
responsibility Dr. Kurien had inculcated in all the Organizations he led
from time to time, to Respond as a matter of Responsibility and Honesty
of Purpose of existence.
Unfortunately, it is
missing today. That Standard to give a Response at any cost from those
systems have gone down too low. Even the communications addressed to the
Chairmen, MDs and Directors who are at the helm of such Organizations
are not cared for to give a response. It is the Leaderships who are
responsible for it.
The same things are being taught to the people to follow in general now days to be non-responding to genuine communications. Silence is not the Solution. If there
is a Posture of Silence, something is wrong in the system, it wants to
hide. It applies to the Individuals also, silence is to hide weakness, as
there is no courage to respond. Bad leaders teach Silence and
Non-Response. They don't deserve to be at Leadership Positions in
Institutions if they teach Silence and Non-Response. It is the Good leaders who ensure the Organizations to be responding and giving response to the environment responsibly.
