 HAPPY DIWALI TO EVERY ONE

Diwali has universal appeal now as a festival.

Today ( 24-Oct-2022 ) is the Diwali Day, and it is being celebrated across India and globally where mostly Indians have inhabited. Yesterday was the Diwali Eve ( "Chhoti Diwali" ) celebrated mostly in Northern and Western India.

The Diwali of this year has got some rejoice among people with some Specialties:

a) It is being celebrated as a Main-Stream festival openly after 2-years of lull due to Covid-19.

b) The Indian Cricket Team has won ( and increased possibility to bag the T-20 World Cup today), by defeating the arch rival Cricket Team of Pakistan with a very exciting match today at Melbourne in Australia.

c) The Honourable Prime Minister of india has also inaugurated the Diwali Festival yesterday at the Historic City of Ayodhaya in India. When the Prime Minister of the Nation inaugurates a Festival it gets National Focus. However, this Diwali Celebration at Ayodhya has been made a Record of sorts with :
The record number of 15,00,000 ( Fifteen Lacs or 1.5 million ) Clay Lamps ( "Diyas" ) being lighted at the Celebration site.

If we try to make an estimate, the 15,00,000 "Diyas" (Clay Lamps) being lighted at Ayodhya Celebration site alone yesterday and today, will have the following interesting magnitude to imagine the grand Diwali function being organized there:

i) If each Diya weighs about 200gm, the Diyas of 300,000 kgs ( or 300 MTs ) weight are being lighted only at Celebration Site of Ayodhya City.

ii) If each Diya is filled with 25-30-35 ml of Vegetable Oil, about 100,000 kgs (100 MTs ) of Vegetable Oil will be consumed by the Diyas at Ayodhya Celebration site in two days ( yesterday and today ).

iii) If a Cotton Wick ( "Bati" ) of 5gm is used with each Diya, 15,000 kgs ( 15 MTs ) of Cotton Wicks will be used at Ayodhya Celebration site in 2days.

iv) If one person lights up about 100 diyas per day, then 30,000 persons would be engaged to light up this record number of "Diyas' in Ayodhya celebrtion in two days.

I just did this calculation of the estimate with my curiosity, to imagine the magnitude of the Grand Celebration in Ayodhya today, and it is always very big, when we imagine about the whole of India; it is just astronomical magnitude. India and Diwali have always been synonymous over the ages.
