5G IS GOING TO STAY LIKE EAR RINGS HAVING NO EAR TO WEAR IT FOR SOME TIME IN INDIA:
FOR WANT OF 5G HANDSETS
Published reports say, right now in India, there are 1516 Million ( or 1.52 Billion ) Mobile Phone Handsets are in use. This means the number of Mobile Phone handsets are much more than the Heads we have in Indian Population right now.
Further Interestingly, also published reports say, only 9.7% of Mobile Phone Handsets used in India are 5G -Enabled. It means 147 Million ( 0.147 Billon) handsets in use in India presently are 5G-Enabled and rest 1369 Million( 1.369 Billion ) handsets are Not-5G-Enabled which can not use 5G-Band-width.
Further, when I looked at the Market Prices of 5G-Enabled Handsets, the minimum Price of a 5G-Enabled Handset is about Rs. 14000/- in India right now ( example could be some of the cheapest "Redmi" brand of Android Mobile Phones ) and it can go upto Rs.1,40,000/- or so for an advanced and high end model of iPhone 14.
Although the 5G Mobile Telephony is being commercially rolled out in India from today by the Prominent Players such as Jio Telecom and also Airtel is also doing in few major cities initially to start with, it looks like the 5G-Enabled Handsets will be a handicap for 5G Spread in India. Rest could be easily understood, though there are also quite Optimistic Reports for its Rapid Spread.
It may be imagined, when someone shifts to 5G, a Non-5G handset will ultimately have to be scrapped. It is going to be almost certain, that over a few years, those 1369 Million ( 1.369 Billion ) Non-5G Handsets will have to be scrapped as and when the entire mobile telephony market if at all shifts to 5G.
It looks like 5G will remain for quite some time, as Ear Rings having no ear to wear it in India for want of 5G-Enabled Mobile Handsets, as it is a Hardware Need and No-Software need to be converted by software enhancements/modifications.
