THERE CAN NOT BE ANYTHING BETTER TO RECOGNISE AND CELEBRATE INDIA'S CULTURE ACROSS RELIGIOUS BOUNDARIES AROUND THE WORLD.

Introduction of a Bill in US Congress yesterday, to declare Diwali as a Federal Holiday in USA is historic move to travel beyond religious boundaries and there can not be anything better to recognize India's culture across religious boundaries.


Diwali ( or Deepavali ) is though an important Hindu festival having its origins India and widely celebrated in the World, it is a festival which symbolizes and celebrates the "victory of good over evil and light over darkness". Otherwise it is also known as the festival of lights and in Indian traditional name it is also called as "Deepavali". Diwali festivities, according to the Hindu calendar, starts from the 28th day of Ashwin, that is, "Krishna Paksha Trayodashi" and the most important Diwali Day falls on the "Panchami". By English Calander it can be safely said that it falls in the month of November every year, around the first two weeks of the month of November.
