COVID-19 SURVIVAL STRATEGY

- SOME USEFUL LIFE STYLE TIPS
( FOR PRIVATE CIRCULATION ONLY AND NON-MEDICAL TIPS )

I am deeply saddened and have felt heavily pained to hear the number of people that have passed away recently quite untimely due to Covid-19 onslaught on Second Wave. The families have been distressed out of great loss of many bright and young, honoured and well respected, it is a great loss to the society as well.
I am sharing some practical tips out of my own experience and empirically tried by many, that may help in fighting the on going battle of Covid onslaught. Readership of what I am writing in this post is voluntary, some may believe it or not, some may agree or not, some may call it long or short, it is individual choice, it is No-Medical advice ( to be legally clear ) and just some practical tips for friends who can believe and take it as life style related tips that may (probably) reassure some personal safety in Covid regime.
Practically nothing can guarantee that anyone will not be affected by Covid-19 virus, however the following life style related practices may help to some extent, sometimes not getting into the level of Oxygen need and Critical Hospital Facilities that are scarce now a days:
  1. Physical Exercise : Those who have learnt Yoga and Pranayam and are capable of practicing of their own, but have stopped under Covid-19 Regime due to lock downs and under various conditions, must restart and do it religiously by giving some time. Yoga and Pranayam are scientific, are no way religious. Those who can't do Yoga and Pranayam of their own, if they have access to do any other Physical Exercise, like some have tread-mills or mechanical facilities at home or at easy reach, if have stopped, must re-start and do it as they can afford, regularly. I practice Yoga about 1-hour in the morning and Pranayam about 10-15 minutes daily in the morning. I have learnt it decades ago and it costs me nothing other than the time. Benefits could be plenty.
  2. Walking - Walking is the best Exercise. Do walk as much your body can afford, at least till you sweat, in the morning and evening, but keeping a good mask on all the time. Walk in the less populous and free places. Walking can be done additional to Yoga and Other form of Physical Exercise. If you have a tread mill and you are walking there as per norms and you can afford it is fine. I try to walk 45mins to 1hour in the morning and about 30-45mins in the evening daily, quite regularly now.
  3. Using Warm Water - Never undermine the benefit of warm water. Warm Water was the best sanitizer when no other sanitizer was invented in the world. It has no side effects and not harmful. Wash your face, eyebrows, eyelashes, moustache ( if you have ) and beard (if you have) with tolerable warm water, when you come from outside to your home, every time. Also wash your nostrils with tolerable warm water ( even one can suck tolerable warm water by one nostril while holding the other closed and throw by mouth, those who can practice it with the help of small containers like an eye-cup or syrup medicine cups, it is possible, it has better benefit ). Gargle with Warm Water and Drink Warm Water when you come from outside to your home. If you can use the Warm Water as above 2-3 times if your are at home, but you should do it every time you come back from outside to your home. I use the Warm Water regularly as explained above.
  4. Consider the Face Mask, a good quality mask, as if it is non-separable like the under wear / inner wear, to be fixed appropriately, and wear definitely when outside. When you are outside of your home, it should be non-separable under all circumstances as said, like the under wear / inner wear. A good quality cloth mask may be workable. Those who have experience, Textile Industry uses very good quality cloth masks given for their employees to protect from fumes. I use some of the Cloth Masks of similar type and I found those Cloth Masks are very effective.
  5. Ruthless Discipline and Absolute Disciplined Covid Appropriate Conduct published by the Governments and All media a lot during last one year has to be abided by 100% of times, a small time laxity or letting it lose is not affordable.
  6. The Covid Virus, according to the Scientists and Doctors, is taking about 3-4 days in anchoring in the Upper Respiratory Track ( in simple terms Nose, Nasal Passage and Throat considered combinedly). Then it migrates to the lower respiratory track, that is the Lungs. If the Virus can be washed off /cleaned off from the Upper Respiratory Track before it goes into the lower respiratory track (lungs), there may be a larger chance of survival for anybody. Once the virus gets into the lungs, then depending on person's strength, treatment available and many other complex medical issues, whether he gets into Oxygen Need or ICU/Ventilator need comes into picture.
Many can say what I am saying above is Mundane, you have read it myriad of times in all media since one year and you know enough of it. But ask yourself, how much you have followed and practiced it in reality, as a Ruthlessly Covid Appropriate Disciplined Individual ? Keep your answer with yourself and work on it.
I have tried to explain the above for Good with Good intentions for the friends and who may like to subscribe to the views expressed, benefits are always as per conduct of own.
