MAHATMA GANDHI PROVES THE THEORY OF
“ONE PERSON CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE”

Mahatma Gandhi, the father of Indian Nation, proves the theory of “One Person can make the Difference”.

There are many examples in Science and Technology, wherein every invention or a discovery, done by an individual has contributed to the human society and civilization with a great difference. Just to give few examples, almost everyone in all corners of the world would immediately recall from top of the mind the names of ,  “Alexander Graham Bell” ( who invented telephone ), “Thomas Alva Edison”, (who invented phonograph, the motion picture camera, and early electric light bulb), “Louis Pasteur”(who invented pasteurization and discovered principles of vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization with significant breakthroughs in the causes and prevention of diseases, and his discoveries have saved many lives over more than 150years time since his invention and discoveries ) and “Maria Salomea Sklodowska Curie”(Madm Curie) ( who did pioneering work on Radioactivity that has been the back bone of medical diagnostics and radio therapy saving huge number of lives world wide and application of radioactivity and radiography in other branches of science and technology that has come in use for the benefit of the society and the world. There could be plenty of examples to recall and prove that these great men and women have made great difference to the human society globally and it is undisputable.

Here comes Mahatma Gandhi (the real parental name: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi ) who uniquely discovered, practiced and demonstrated to the world unambiguously that “Non-violence and Truth” can make great difference to the society, if practiced with care and commitment. He not only practiced this in India but, he also opened the eyes of the World community who had suffered enough under the clutches of two World Wars such as World War-I and World War-II and many of the localized wars globally at different patches of geography. He was one person ”One and only one Mahatma Gandhi “, there was no other person to replicate him, but he made the difference to the society by his practice of “ Non Violence and Truth”. He had a large number of followers, companions and co-workers not only in India but also globally. He demonstrated uniquely that “Non-violence and Truth” are the most powerful tools that can be used by even a single person to stand up and give a befitting reply to a very mighty force on the opposite side. He proved that, when one side is following Non-violence and Truth and practicing it strictly, the other side can not resort to violence and use of force all the time. This practice, which he not only preached and practiced; he, by his demonstration effect made a large contingent of leaderships and countrymen in India of his times, to follow the same principle and put into practice. As a result, the mighty British Empire, that was one of the major power of the world at that time, had to bow its head before the Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’s principle of “non-violence and truth”. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a bright and England educated Barrister, he knew the laws of the land and laws of the world; he knew that the principle of “non-violence and truth” would comply with all laws of the land and the world, no law can have field of operation intruding into the field of “non-violence and truth”. He knew very well, within his unique vision that, the principle of “non-violence and truth” would not carry out any activity that can break any law of the land and the world, so that the British could fix him in a legal violation then. This sharp intelligence of the Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and strict adherence to the "Principle of Non-violence and Truth" and making the whole lot of freedom fighters and the countrymen of India following him and co-opting him in this principle, could not allow the British to sustain in the freedom movement of India that was led by Mahatma Gandhi for decades together with the same and sustaining principle of “Non Violence and Truth”. The mighty British not being able to sustain before the principle of Non-violence and Truth had to finally call it a day and end the British Rule in India on 15th August 1947, the day on which India got Independence from the colonial rule of British under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. And, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi proved to the world that he is a real Mahatma ( a Great Soul ) not only for India and Indians, but a Mahatma for the mankind.

As Graham Bell, Thomas Edition, Maria curie or Louis  Pasteur the few names used only for example purpose and there were many more and in plenty; they were only Individuals without a clone or duplicate or a body double, but all of them as “an Individual or one Person" have made unfathomable difference, for the benefit of the mankind and world over the decades and centuries together.

Similarly, Mahatma Gandhi has been “one Individual or one Person” who could make a great difference in the conduct of power and administration within the society by the simple principles of “non violence and truth”. The great scientists worked in their laboratories for decades together; however Mahatma Gandhi traveled over an uncharted path, he used his experiments on the principle of   “non-violence and truth”,  in his own life and inspiring others in the society to follow the same principles for decades together. He proved beyond imagination that the theory of “One Person can make a difference “ and a great difference for the benefit of the society. Mahatma Gandhi is a live example, he is not any epic or holy book in papers, his life and work is not any theoretical history book  or a story or legend which is difficult to visualize with ifs and buts, he and his principles are live wire to prove the theory that “ One Person can make the Difference”.

[ Remembering the Mahatma, Mahatma Gandhi on his celebrated birth day falling on 2nd October ( 2020 ).  Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born at Porbandar in Gujarat State of India, on 2nd October, 1869 as a baby boy ].
