The relationship of Teacher-Student is a relationship of life time, an un-stinted relationship, the Teacher remains the Teacher and the Student remains the student for life, it is sacrosanct. Every teacher has been a student and a student also becomes a Teacher, it has been perpetual since onset of Human Civilization.
In mythology, in history and in all kinds of past or contemporary literature the teacher enjoys a respectable place in the society and in future it is going to stay. In all kinds of religions/faiths, the Saints and Preachers Recognized over the timeline of History are teachers to the Human Society. In Ramayan, Rishi Balmiki, Rishi Vishwamitra and Rishi Vasistha (Saint Balmiki, Saint Vishamitra and Saint Vasistha) were all teachers. In Mahabharat, Dronacharya was the teacher. The teacher leaves an indelible impression in the mind of the student that contributes to the future life of the student. Everyone is a student and he/she has a teacher in life, in and as much as the parents, are also the teachers to their children. A teacher is a most respectable person to a student, it has remained so since time immemorial and is going to continue so for all times to come.
In India, the day of September 05 every year is celebrated as Teachers’ Day, as the birth day of its Former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ( the 2nd President of Independent India), who himself had spent the most part of life as a teacher par excellence and who had said that the best minds of the Nation should be the teachers.
The teachers are honoured and the profession of the teachers is recognized and well respected as the noble profession worldwide in shaping the society. The teachers have contributed, continue to contribute and will continue to contribute immensely in future for the wellbeing and development of Human Society. The teachers will continue to be the friends, philosopher and guide for Human Civilization. This a note of respect and acknowledgement of contribution of the teachers for the society.
About the Author : Dr. Nimain Charan Biswal is a B.Sc.(Agri. Science and Technology). M.B.A. and Ph.D.( Management Area ) by qualifications and he has 34+years of work experience in both industrial and development sectors in diversified fields of social importance. He has been educated at Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT)-Bhubaneswar, Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and Gujarat University ( with Resource Support of IIM-Ahmedabad ). Dr.Biswal is further educated at IIM-Calcutta, XLRI-Jamshedpur, Apple Computer Industries and Spar Inc., USA. He has worked for reputed National and International Organisations in Senior/Top Management Capacities. He is a management expert, a prominent professional of India and known Internationally as well. He lives at Mumbai in India.
