RULING BY
DEFECTION IS BECOMING THE NEW NORM
INFECTION IN
DEMOCRACY NEEDS CHECK
In a democracy ruling by election ( by elected majority ) is the norm. Unfortunately in contemporary times, ruling by defection ( pulling elected representatives from rival parties by hook or by crook outside of election ) is becoming the new norm and it is becoming a great infection ( disease ) in the democracy. It was seen in Karnataka State in India, it was seen in MP ( Madhya Pradesh State in India ) by something called as heavy-weight defection saga, and it had been budding in Rajasthan Sate of India by Revolt of a Prominent Ruling Leader, however it got clipped due to greater resolve of the relevant party, by observed tenacity of local leadership and the inclination of its high command to not let go . Everywhere there will be a soft target, somebody having an ambition (any man / any woman in a rival party ruling by elected majority ) that is not most of the times in concurrence with the leadership of the party ruling by elected majority. But should that be utilized / mis-utilized and/or encouraged and capitalized as an extra-election tool to rule in a democracy? Are we moving towards a no opposition rule in India or like Russia or China where a Leader is authorized ( by whatever means ) and will rule until 2036 ( in Russia ) or until he is alive ( in China ) and do whatever he/she wants ?
If any intellectual will point it out, tons of false cases will be filed against them ( intellectuals ) by Tom Dick and Harry Departments to cow them down ? It needs a check in the Democracy in the context of India.
